By car

About 2 ½ hours from London (but allow more if in rush hour traffic)

The most direct routes are:

From the south & east - A12 - A144

From the north – B1332 - A144

From the west – A143 – A144 or B1123

By rail

The town is lucky enough to have a Railway Station. There are frequent services between London Liverpool Street & Ipswich with Anglia Railways. These link to the East Suffolk Line to Lowestoft via Halesworth – but this train runs about every two hours. Try to avoid peak time rates. Allow 2 ½ hours in all.

Note that Anglia Railways carries cycles.

Alternatively the nearest mainline station is at Diss on the Ipswich – Norwich line.
